We hope you enjoy your new baby…Thank you for your business!
- The Buyer shall notify the Breeder immediately if the dog cannot be kept by the Buyer.
- The dog shall not be sold, transferred, or given to any individual or to any retail or wholesale establishment for the purpose of sale or resale to the public or to any research institution where medical experimentation or other practices take place.
- Your puppy is being sold to its “forever home”. If in the event you can no longer provide/care for your puppy/dog for unforeseen reasons OR you are unable to abide by this contract’s requirements, you as the Buyer are required to return the dog to RTR. All AKC papers, veterinary records, and microchip information will also be returned to RTR. All shipping costs are the Buyer’s responsibility. No cash/money refunds will be made of any kind.
- The Buyer and Breeder agree to keep each other informed of their current addresses.
- The Buyer agrees that it is the Buyer’s responsibility to accept the dog as described. The Breeder has provided and the Buyer has acknowledged a full disclosure of the health, habits, and temperament of the dog. The dog’s health records will be supplied at the time of purchase.
- After eight weeks and for the life of the dog, the Buyer may return the dog to the Breeder at any time and for any reason.
- The Buyer agrees to sign the necessary papers to return the Breeder as sole owner of the dog in the event that the dog is returned.
- The puppy must be registered with the AKC before 6 months of age. If the Buyer does not register the dog by 6 months of age with AKC, the Buyer gives RTR permission to register the dog to RTR as the owner through AKC.
- RTR’s health guarantee will expire once your dog reaches 3 years of age. Our health guarantee covers hips, elbows, and eyes. All genetic diseases have a lifetime guarantee. Hips must receive an OFA score of less than “fair”. Please see “health guarantee” packet for guidelines.
- Our health guarantee, if needed, will guarantee that you will receive your original payment for your puppy or you shall receive another puppy at no cost. See “health guarantee” packet.
- RTR requires that the puppy has a veterinarian appointment scheduled BEFORE going to their new homes. This should be within 48 hours of pick-up day. RTR is not responsible for the health of the puppy after it has been in the hands of the Buyer after 48 hours, unless covered by our health guarantee (i.e. hips/elbows/eyes/genetic conditions, etc).
- All puppies have been on an age-appropriate deworming schedule prior to going home, using a deworming protocol that we worked closely with our vet on. They will each receive a fecal exam prior to going home to show that they have no ground parasites before leaving our facility. Due to this fact, Red Tide Retrievers does not cover any veterinary expenses related to any ground parasite.
- If you decide to spay/neuter your dog, these procedures are not permitted until 18-24 months of age. Failure to comply will forfeit the 3-year health guarantee. See “health guarantee” packet.
- This puppy is sold without breeding rights. Limited registration may be switched to full registration after the age of 2 years old, after the proper health clearances and an AKC title have been obtained. To protect the integrity of the breed, breeding rights will not be released to anyone who plans on breeding their dog without health clearances, to another breed (i.e. doodles), or to a dilute dog/dog who has dilute lines in their pedigree.
- Buyer will take all measures to maintain the health and well-being of the puppy for as long as the Buyer retains ownership. Veterinarian visits on a regular basis, following all recommended immunizations, heartworm, and flea/tick control. The buyer will provide a good home which includes warm and dry bedding with good protection from the elements/weather, regular exercise, affection, proper nutrition, and health care for the puppy. The weight will be maintained at a normal amount for the size of the dog. If the Buyer does not provide these items, the Breeder may require the return of the puppy.
- RTR reserves the right to refuse to sell to any home where the dog will be chained outside. Proper lodging/enclosure/care is of utmost importance to us. By signing this contract, the Buyer agrees to treat this dog as one of their family members.
